SUMMARY:Interdisciplinary College 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Interdisciplinary College (IK) is an annual, intense one-we
ek spring school which offers a dense state-of-the-art course program in ne
urobiology, neural computation, cognitive science/psychology, artificial in
telligence, machine learning, robotics and philosophy. It is aimed at stude
nts, postgraduates and researchers from academia and industry. By combining
humanities, science and technology, the IK endeavours to intensify dialogu
e between the various disciplines. Participants come mainly – but not exclu
sively – from European countries, lecturers from all over the world. Course
s include up-to-date introductions to the main fields of the IK, as well as
an in-depth treatment of the focus topic, which is changing from year to y
ear. The IK is also a unique social event. In the long evenings, participan
ts enjoy a very special atmosphere: minds meet, music is played, and friend
s are made in the welcoming conference site at Lake Möhne.\n\nIn 2025, the
topical focus is “Augmenting Minds and Bodies”. We will focus on interfaces
between technology, body and mind that serve to expand the original bounda
ries of systems - such as bionic prostheses, AI-supported educational techn
ologies or adaptation mechanisms for machine learning models. \n\nScientifi
c Chairs\n\n Benjamin Paaßen (Bielefeld University / German Research Cente
