#KI50 Project: Ten influential minds and technologies in German AI history selected by an interdisciplinary jury

In the Science Year 2019 - Artificial Intelligence, declared by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - an interdisciplinary jury selected the ten most influential researchers and technologies in German AI history.

Berlin, 27.05.2019 - As part of the project "#KI50: Artificial Intelligence in Germany - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow", the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (Society for Computer Science) (GI), a jury of 18 AI experts has selected "Ten most influecning researchers" and "Ten important technologies" from German AI history. The almost seven-hour consultation took place in mid-May 2019 at the Weizenbaum Institute for Networked Society in Berlin. With #KI50, the GI wants to encourage the public to reflect on the German history of AI, to look ahead and to make the topic more accessible to the general public, following on from its 50th anniversary and the Science Year 2019 - Artificial Intelligence. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
